Just thought I'd share a little thought with you - nothing deep
and meaningful - just an observation about how i once shared the
same cynical view about Christianity as you. Read into it what
you want.
When i used to visit [Family member F] and [Family member G] as a
teenager I hated their Christian music that used to play on the
stereo. It really grated on me and I despised everything about
it. the words of a song that got to me the most was the following
taken from psalm 8.
"oh lord our lord how majestic is thy name in all the earth
who have set your glory above the heavens
out of the mouth of babes and infants
you have ordained strength because of your enemies
that you may silence the enemy and the avenger
When i consider your heavens the work of your fingers
the moon and the stars, which you have appointed
what is man that you are mindful of him
and the son of man that you should care for him?
For you have made him a little lower than the angels
And you have crowned him with glory and honor
you have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands
you have put all things under his feet
All sheep and oxen
Even the beasts of the field
The birds of the air
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
O lord our Lord how majestic is thy name in all the earth."
today I love this song more than any other - Funny how sometimes
we end up loving what we once hated.
