Subject: Rationalist authors - my response
To: mike@mryder.com, [Family member A]
Hi Mike,
I am writing to present my conclusions about the rationalist
views and material which you sent to me for discussion.
I will tell you
briefly what transpired.
I went to bed at 11PM and considered the
matter until 3AM as sleep was quite out of the question.
Shortly after
that, and before reaching any conclusive decision as to what to do, I
received in my brain (for want of a better explanation) several clear
images of beings that I presumed to be demons. Certainly by their
appearance and expressions they were quite evil and malevolent. A long
time has passed since anything of this nature has happened to me, but I
am somewhat familiar with getting spiritual glimpses of the 'other
side'. It is not something which I enjoy at all - quite the
opposite.
I find it terrifying.
I will therefore say this: The
rationalist position is demon inspired. The trouble with the
rationalist argument is that they have no understanding whatsoever of
the spiritual dimension, and to make it worse they deliberately close
their eyes to that which is obvious and their hearts to the voice of
conscience, so as to be without excuse. To make matters even
worse they seek to attract others to their one dimensional view.
Unfortunately for them, supposing that the bible is correct, the day
will come when they will nevertheless bow their knee to Jesus Christ
and acknowledge him as Lord to the glory of God the Father. A
more miserable predicament cannot be imagined.
We had a power cut
this morning which affected my computer which locked me out of my
emails in Thunderbird and "quarantined" your emails. I was
therefore unable to resume reading them. [Family member A] rang
this evening and relayed the Brickbat one verbatim and she undertook to
make a reply to you on Thomas Paine.
