Thanks for enlightening me on the nature of numerics. I hope to
get the time to do a few experiments of my own. To that end I am
enclosing a couple of files that you might find interesting. It's
a computer program that will look for numerics in text.
Unfortunately it requires compiling, etc to use it. There will be
a Linux C++ (GCC) compiler on SUSe if you want to enter another
learning curve.
I'll let you know if and when I get any results.
